About
Hi there! Thanks for visiting my about page!
I’m Cristi. I currently live in Nevada although I came from California. I’m married with one child and another on the way. I don’t get much time to talk to other adults right now, so this blog seemed like a good outlet for some of the thoughts rolling around in my head. For some background information:
-
Most days I consider myself a Christian and while I like musing about theology I don’t tend to have much tied down at the moment besides believing in the restoring power of God (which I don’t believe is fully realized in this life). I don’t go to church. I don’t believe “going to church” fulfills the intent of any part of the Bible. Lots of “church things” have been very damaging in my life.
-
I love to play the piano. I really wish I had time to play, but usually it ends up being the last thing on the list.
-
I also love to read. At the moment I read some theology books (love N.T. Wright’s books) but mostly romance novels. I’m not ashamed to be a Christian and read romance novels and I found it very disturbing when the pastor of the last church we went to included in a prayer “…and please convict all those women that read Harlequin novels…”. Not that I specifically read many Harlequin novels, but the intent behind the prayer was clear.

I’m an Engineer. I quit my engineering job recently, but I don’t believe the job specifically made me an Engineer. It’s the way I think about things and solve problems. Interestingly enough, my husband is an Engineer too but we solve problems in very different ways and have very different strengths and weaknesses.

I love fixing things. I’ve fixed our TV, some computer stuff, the cars, etc. The same principle applies to making things sometimes. I can be pretty creative when it comes to making things (including cooking food that normally turns out pretty good).
That’s about all for now. Possibly I’ll add more as I think of things.
